PRODIM range of self-contained dimming modules are specifically designed to give up to 50% running cost savings over uncontrolled lighting.
Three detecting elements are used a passive infra red detector monitors occupation through body heat, a photo darlington checks light levels and an active infra red system allows the unit to be commissioned without the need for step ladders and screwdrivers.
The Prodim ensures that lighting is only switched on when the area covered is occupied and, in conjunction with dimmable dimming ballasts, will enable luminaries to track ambient light levels and give a consistent user – defined minimum light level at all times. When the area is vacated, the lighting will either dim to its minimum level and/or switch off completely. When the area is re-occupied the lighting switches immediately to half power, for safety reasons, and then fades up or down to the specified level. To fade from fully on to fully dimmed takes 1 minute. This slow response is virtually imperceptible in use. The I.R remote control override fades the lighting up or down at 4 times normal speed and the lighting will retain this setting until a power up reset or an occupancy timeout when the unit returns to automatic.
PRODIM/Analogue. The Prodim analogue is powered directly from the mains and provides a switched live output and an isolated communication signal for up to 8 ballasts[40 with the wall mounted unit]. Each unit has its own microprocessor and associated non-volatile memory so that the configuration settings may be changed at any time and re-stored without being affected by power loss or mains fluctuations.
PRODIM/Digital. The Prodim analogue is powered directly from the mains and supplies a 12V isolated communication signal for up to 8 ballasts [40 with the wall mounted unit]. Each unit has its own microprocessor and associated non-volatile memory so that the configuration settings may be changed at any time and re-stored without being affected by power loss or mains fluctuations.
